Summit Container Crew Pty Ltd (ABN 93 701 251 112), trading as Summit Container Crew ("Summit", "we", "us", "our"), provides container unloading, loading and warehouse labour services in Melbourne, Victoria. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information this website may collect, how we use it, and how you can contact us about it.

Our approach to privacy law

Summit is a small business. Many small businesses in Australia — generally those with annual turnover of $3 million or less — are exempt from the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), subject to certain exceptions. Regardless of whether the Privacy Act applies to us, we are committed to handling personal information responsibly and, where applicable, in accordance with Australian privacy laws, including the Australian Privacy Principles.

Information we may collect

This website doesn't require an account or login. We only collect personal information that you choose to give us, typically through our Get a Quote or Contact forms. Depending on which form you use and which fields you choose to fill in, this may include:

  • your name
  • company name
  • email address
  • phone number, if you choose to provide one (phone is optional on both forms)
  • the suburb or location of your warehouse
  • details about the work you need done (e.g. container unloading, loading, palletising or wrapping)
  • container size, and approximate container volume or frequency
  • approximate carton quantity and/or number of SKUs
  • whether a forklift is available on site
  • your preferred start date
  • any message or additional information you choose to include

We don't collect every item above from every visitor — only whatever you actually enter. Simply browsing the website doesn't require you to provide any personal information.

How we use this information

Information submitted through our forms may be used to:

  • respond to your enquiry
  • prepare and discuss a quote
  • understand the requirements of the job
  • arrange or discuss our services and scheduling
  • communicate with you as a prospective or existing customer
  • administer and improve this website and our business where reasonably necessary
  • meet any legal or regulatory requirements that apply to us

We don't use your information for unrelated marketing, and we don't sell personal information.

How enquiry forms are processed (Formspree)

Our Contact and Get a Quote forms are processed using Formspree, a third-party form-handling service. When you submit either form, the information you enter is transmitted through Formspree so your enquiry can reach us. Formspree may process and store this information on infrastructure located outside Australia, including in the United States. Formspree's handling of your information is subject to Formspree's own privacy practices — see Formspree's Privacy Policy for details.

Google Analytics (GA4) and your consent choice

With your consent, this website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to help us understand how visitors use the site. Analytics does not load, and no analytics data is sent to Google, until you click "Accept Analytics" on the cookie banner. If you choose "Decline," Google Analytics stays blocked. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every page.

Your choice is remembered on your own device using your browser's local storage, in an item called summit_analytics_consent, set to either granted or denied. This is not a cookie and isn't something we can access directly — it simply tells this website which option you chose, so the banner doesn't ask again.

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies on your device (such as _ga and related identifiers) to distinguish visitors and sessions and provide us with website usage statistics. Depending on Google's own implementation, this may include information such as which pages you viewed, how you interacted with the site, general technical device/browser information, and how you arrived at the site.

In addition to Google's standard analytics, we record a small number of our own events so we can see whether the website is generating enquiries:

  • generate_lead — recorded when a Get a Quote submission is successfully sent
  • contact_submit — recorded when a Contact form submission is successfully sent
  • quote_cta_click — recorded when a "Get a Quote" button or link is clicked

These events only record that the interaction happened. They do not intentionally include your name, email address, phone number, company name, warehouse location, message, or any other content you typed into a form.

For more information about how Google handles data collected through Analytics, see Google's Privacy Policy.

What we don't currently use

We don't currently use Google Ads conversion tracking or remarketing, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, other advertising or remarketing cookies, heatmap tools, or session-recording software. If that changes, we will update this Privacy Policy to reflect our current practices.

Cookies and local storage, summarised

  1. A local storage item, summit_analytics_consent, which remembers your Accept/Decline choice for analytics. It's set the moment you make a choice, and stays until you clear your browser data or change your choice via Cookie Settings.
  2. Google Analytics cookies (such as _ga), which are only set after you accept analytics.

You can change your analytics choice at any time using Cookie Settings in the footer. You can also clear cookies and local storage through your browser's own settings, though exactly how to do this — and what effect it has — varies between browsers and devices.

Disclosure to service providers

We don't sell personal information. To operate this website and respond to your enquiries, we rely on third-party service providers — currently Formspree (form processing) and Google Analytics (analytics, only where you've consented). These providers process information as part of delivering their service to us, subject to their own privacy practices as linked above. We disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary to operate the website, respond to enquiries, provide our services, or where required by law.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we handle from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No method of storage or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, and we can't promise absolute security.

Access, correction and privacy questions

If you'd like to access, correct or ask a question about personal information you've provided to us, contact us at info@summitcontainercrew.com and we'll do our best to help.

If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it directly. If you believe the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies to your complaint and you're not satisfied with our response, you may be able to raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time if our website, service providers, or information-handling practices change. The current version, with its effective date, is always published on this page.
